Today is the first day of spring and I can’t tell you how excited I am for nice weather, farmer’s markets, gardens and BBQ’s. Spring can be a busy time of the year for everyone including myself. I have been traveling quite a bit for work and apologize in advance for the lack of posts the last couple of weeks.
As you may recall from my last post and updates on facebook, last weekend I attended and exhibited at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim. Overall, the show had great attendance including exhibitors. It took me two full days to walk the show. Their were many celebrity appearances including Jillian Michaels, Elizabeth Hasselback, Montel Williams and Fabio promoting either their own product line or somebody else’s. The show in my opinion was dominated by gluten free. Functional beverage, digestive health (fiber and probiotics), omega 3 fatty acids, dark chocolates with added antioxidants as well as herbal teas also had a strong presence at the show. I came home with a ton of samples. I’ll be sure to let you know if I come across anything exciting.

Now that I’m home from California, I am ready for some spring cleaning. Today, I cleaned out my refrigerator and got re-organized. When was the last time you took everything out of your refrigerator and cleaned it from top to bottom? I would bet there are foods you have forgotten about or old condiments that need to be thrown out. There may even be a spill you are not aware of. Use natural cleaners when cleaning your fridge. Warm water and vinegar or baking soda all work very well. I can’t think of a better way to kick off spring by throwing out the junk and replenishing it with fresh foods.
